►the Tromp family
Traces of myself are going back to a certain Dirk born near Heiloo / Limmen 1630. During the second half of the 19th century a branch Tromp left for the province of South Holland and another branch to Amsterdam. The rest of the descendants of this Jan, to which I belong, have remained in Beverwijk until the first half of the 20th century. The descendants of Jan have moved in the 20th century onward across the Netherlands, Germany and Australia.
►the Duijn family and access to ►Duijn-Stam
Traces of the Duijn family go back to a certain Jan Duijnmeijer, born ca 1560, place unknown. His grandchildren are known to have lived in Egmond-Binnen. Initially named to the profession they exercised (overseer in the dunes). Between 1560 and the mid-19th century, the name Duijn (even within a family) at will written in different ways: Duin, van Duin, Duyn, Van Duyn, Ho(o)geduijn etc.
In the early 18th century, the descendants of Jan Duijnmeijer moved to Velsen and Wijk aan Zee. In the middle of the 18th century a branch moves to Castricum and and another branch to Heemskerk. The rest of the descendants continue to live in Velsen and Wijk aan Zee. In the middle of the 19th century we find the Duijn's in Beverwijk, Heemskerk, Velsen, Wijk aan Zee, Castricum and Sloten. From the 20th century they spread across the Netherlands, Germany, Australia, the USA and South Africa

The Jeurissen family has its origins in Belgian Brabant around Hasselt. Early 20th century, the branch to which my wife belongs immigrated in the Netherlands and has established a cigar factory in Valkenswaard. Descendants of Jeurissen are now spread across Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland.
►the Pladet family
The Pladet family has its origin in the province of East Flanders in Belgium around Ghent. Early 20th century is the branch to which my wife belongs immigrated in the Netherlands to Bergen op Zoom. Descendants of Pladet are now spread across Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and the USA.
regional history
►farms in "De Breesaap", Velsen (The Breesaap was an agricultural area sandwiched between Velsen and the dunes. It has been a fief from the feudal Middle Ages onwards. The soil was poor in nutrients. The article "The farms in the Breesaap" by Jan Morren describes the ownership and calls the inhabitants of the nine farms. In two of the farms "Duijnen" have lived: in "De Windhond" ("Greyhound") Jan Pieterzn Duijn and in the "De Nieuwe Landbouw" ("New Agriculture") some of the direct ancestors of the couple Duijn-Stam. At the end of the 19th century, most of the Breesaap has fallen victim to the construction of the North Sea Canal that connects Amsterdam with the North Sea.)
